peace for pits

If you aren’t a dog owner, there’s a good chance that pit bulls make you nervous. Unfortunately, a very small percentage of the animals have ever showed propensity towards violence. Many pit bulls just need a chance with a good home. But before that can happen, so many are needlessly euthanized. Peace for Pits, our October Vote to Donate Winner here at Martin Chevrolet, was created to help these misunderstood animals.

Peace for Pits takes in pit bulls from high kill facilities across the state of Illinois, as well as dogs that are given up (on-delete) by their owners. Many of the dogs have health problems or injuries when they arrive, making their needs even more time sensitive. The 100% volunteer run organization hopes to save all pit bulls from being euthanized. The dogs also receive the care they so badly need at the facility.

By being the Vote to Donate winner for October, Peach for Pits received $500 and logo placement on our website. Charities and non-profits are currently being nominated through our Facebook page. To nominate a charity, simply post them on our page before Nov. 15. At that point, we will take all of the nominees and hold a vote for the duration of the month.

If your charity already won, it can still be nominated, as a single charity can win three awards within the year. We love to give back here at Martin Chevrolet near McHenry, IL. This is one way in which we can. Don’t forget to nominate – and then don’t forget to vote! A charity and non-profit could really benefit from your assistance. If you have any questions regarding the program rules visit our Vote to Donate page or reach out to us at the dealership.
